My friends and long time followers should know by now I don’t usually start shit up, really, it’s just not my thing. I call out bullshit when it comes on my dash, I offer support, I make sure aint shit folks who been seent stay seent, that sort of thing. Calling out niggas just ain’t me.

I also am not the type to dictate who people follow, again like I said two weeks ago I neither birthed nor sired any of y’all, some of y’all are my Black (Queer) fam but we not blood fam like that, none of y’all were with me when I was trying to hustle up a scantron for my midterms, etc. I can’t tell any of y’all what to do and who to follow and who to hang out with on this site.

But let’s get real, like really fucking real for a minute.

Some of y’all are still riding the dicks of folks who didn’t just fuck up once and made up for it, but did some seriously fucked up bullshit repeatedly and never even fucking tried to apologize for it? Why are y’all following people who are BLATANT abusers, transmisogynists, anti-Black women, and just flat out horrible? This isn’t even limited to shehateme, str8nochaser, eyan-j and the rest of the ashy dick crew because I’ve seen this happen a lot lately.

People who have done/said fucked up bullshit a month ago are still getting their messages spread like it’s the fucking gospel (haaaay eastafrodite, eclectic”massa taught you well”spectrum, of-praxis, mehreenkasana, and sonofbaldwin!), with nothing added on to it because some of the shit they spout sounds half way good. I understand that this is tumblr and stuff flares up and burns out really quickly, but is this really all it takes for someone to get a pass for doing messed up shit? So basically what you’re telling me is I could let my dick get all dry and ashy right now, wait a month for the fallout to die down, come back frontin like I been reading Audre Lorde, and everything will be gucci my nigga?

We have got to do better.

I understand not getting involved in tumblr feuds when it is largely personal, really I do, I avoid them when I can. Not getting involved in those is generally a good decision for everyone involved especially if you don’t know the parties that well. I understand not calling people out or going on the offense, because some people including myself physically, mentally, and emotionally CANNOT do it under most circumstances. But we’re talking about interacting with people who have held some really fucked up beliefs, done some incredibly fucked up things, and unrepentantly triggered folk. Why aren’t people focusing on those issues instead of the quasi-enlightened crap they spew?

Seriously, I’m not asking anybody to do much. All I’m asking is for people to think about who they’re reblogging and decide whether or not they want to give them a bigger platform to spread their ignorance.
