Not all vegans are white and “privileged”. This in itself, is offensive. Like you’re disregarding every other vegan of various different races, and many who are poor. Who are struggling enough as it is. There are vegans all around the world. Veganism is not an American phase that people “try out” because it’s fun. Veganism is not a fad that appeals to specific skin colors. Never has been, never will be.

Veganism is a lifestyle that is based on a respect/reverence for “all” life. Not just humanity. To believe that humans are above all other species is a very oppressive and dominant ideology to have. Frankly, it’s the same ideology that has been behind every major atrocity in history. To cause harm/kill because it’s “the way things have been and should always be”.

We’re not saying animals are above humans, we believe in wholistic compassion towards every being (not just human). True Equality. Nobody is above anybody.

Why would anybody find that offensive/threatening? Two things we share in common with animals are our cherishing of life, and our avoidance of pain. 

We’re saying that human beings aren’t the only ones who have experienced and still experience inhumane treatment/murder.

We’re saying:

Violence is violence. Regardless of species.

Oppression is oppression. Regardless of species.

Rape is rape. Regardless of species.

Holocaust is holocaust. Regardless of species.

Mass murder is mass murder. Regardless of species.

These are horrible atrocities that have happened for centuries. 

and they don’t just apply to human beings.

Let me ask you..

If we enslave animals against their will/shove them in cages with no room to turn around or breathe, torture them if they don’t comply, and forced to live only a quarter of their life span to be exploited, and then killed, then what do we call it?

If we force animals to be used for cruel and painful experiments (absolutely certain that they will die for it), then what do we call it?

If we forcefully inseminate a female cow against her will to (continually) get pregnant, only to take her baby away the moment they’re born, (just to be enslaved and slaughtered) only to have her be killed when she makes no more profit, then what do we call it?

If billions of innocent animals are MURDERED on a mass scale (EACH YEAR) for the sake of profit/indulgence/greed, then what do we call it? 

These animals feel pain, suffering, emotion, they are not products/commodities/machines. 

Just because a living, sentient being is NOT human does not in any way justify the enslavement/oppression/torture/rape/exploitation/slaughter of that living, sentient being.

Again, that is a very oppressive/violent way to think and to be accustomed to. 

It’s similar to how:

Whites saw Blacks (racism) as lesser.

Men saw Women (sexism) as lesser.

Homophobes saw Gays (homophobism) as lesser.

So, why/how is it okay if:

Humans see Animals (speciesism) as lesser…?

I repeat, again:

Violence is violence. Regardless of species.

Oppression is oppression. Regardless of species.

Rape is rape. Regardless of species.

Holocaust is holocaust. Regardless of species.

Mass murder is mass murder. Regardless of species.

See, all of this fucking bullshit that you are spewing acts as though THESE ATROCITIES AREN’T STILL HAPPENING AGAINST HUMAN BEINGS. 

Like I’m not even gonna fucking dignifiy all of this with a response because it’s fucking disgusting.

The REASON that i say “white vegans” is because 1. the face of veganism is predominantly white just like any other movement because white people have to dominate everything and 2. like I and darkjez said before a lot of Black vegans don’t feel comfortable in that fucking community because it’s violently racist. 

and like really? You fucking dare to say that I’M the one being offensive for saying white vegans are assholes with putting a qualifier and then go on to fucking appropriate all these horrifying events and tragedies. You really just need to reevaluate your life.
